Everything about Gradient 3.0 is designed for water. The Vibram sole, made of ultra-sticky Idrogrip rubber compound with friction lugs, keeps your feet planted both on ascents and descents. The midsole foam provides good cushioning and stability. The upper is designed for durability also in the water, including a neoprene cuff that keeps sand and gravel out. The large toe box has plenty of room for drysuit socks and the insole is removable to make room for thicker socks. Bren Orton was heavily involved in the development of Gradient 3.0 from concept to design and put them through countless hours of testing. His Sherbet+Turquoise color has a touch of his own waterfall art. We tragically lost Bren to the river in May 2024. To honor his memory, Palm gives a portion of every sale of Gradient boots to a fund for Bren's family and legacy.
