Alpacka / IR Six Mile Spray Skirt
Sixmile is a collaboration between Alpacka Raft and Immersion Research, and is the first advanced spray skirt for packraft paddlers. The new standard in performance and safety for the advanced grade 3-4+ paddler, while also being an ideal investment for those beginning their progression on grade 2-3 rivers.
The IR Sixmile skirt features a kayak-style neoprene tunnel, a hybrid TPU-coated nylon cover with elastic 1.5 mm neoprene panels at the knees, and a neoprene tube with internal elastic tailored to Alpacka's packable cockpit and rim.
The bungee elastic provides greater implosion resistance when paddling in big water, while a specialized neoprene rim makes the skirt easy to get on and off.
To counteract the bending of the packraft cockpit in waves, super-sticky silicone strips placed on the underside keep the skirt securely in place.
Extra 1.5 mm neoprene panels in gray keep the knees cooler on hot, sunny days, and provide stretch to fit a range of paddler sizes where the knees can rise above the cockpit without sacrificing implosion resistance.
IR's high-visibility Eagle Talon handle holds its shape and prevents the hand from slipping off the end, making it easy to find and pull in disorienting situations. Users must pull the skirt handle to release it while paddling (unlike other packrafting skirts). Triple-reinforced seams for superior durability and dryness.
The Six Mile skirt comes in a range of tunnel sizes to fit different body types for paddlers.
